Food Processing

Australian food processors are under increasing pressure from the government to achieve higher wastewater treatment levels. Food processing produces wastewater which contains high levels of organic matter such as suspended solids and oils and grease as well as nutrients such as Nitrogen, Ammonia and Phosphorus.

Food processors for which this is particularly true include dairy processors, feedlots, abattoirs, rendering plants, wineries, breweries, distilleries, fruit and vegetable processors. Increasing food demand in Australia often leads to many food processors overloading their existing treatment systems which results in water of a poor quality being discharged. This is harmful to the environment and sewage networks alike and results in significant increases in discharge costs. Overbearing odours in many cases difficult to manage are often a sign that the treatment process is compromised

Eco-Tabs™ offers a solution for food processors to increase the efficiency and capacity of their plants whilst often reducing energy costs. We achieve this by super saturating the system with Dissolved Oxygen, constantly replenishing with fresh bacteria, neutralising the ph and pre-treating upstream from the plant. The Eco-Tabs™ technology is highly efficient at mitigating odours, not only in the initial circumstance, but also in the long term as the plant will be running purely aerobically and at a much higher efficiency than before. We are able to achieve this without the need for purchasing any additional expensive machinery which is often a prohibitive factor when processors find themselves needing to increase capacity.
